We’re back!
We had a great time! We went to the Falls of the Ohio where we learned about rocks, fish and fossils. The kids were more interested in the fish than anything else…but they really enjoyed themselves. Here is a picture of the kids as we were leaving.

That’s the Ohio River behind them. Right after this picture we were too hungry for our little peanut butter and jelly sandwiches so we decided instead to go to Golden Corral!
We finally made it home after 1:00 and the kids did their math and a little creative writing in which they wrote all about their day. The last thing they had to do was play a game with their vocab and spelling words. We all had a great time with the game.
We had a very nice day!
As most of you are aware, we started a new curriculum a while back. It’s called Weaver and it is working out wonderfully! I didn’t get involved enough before because the curriculum simply didn’t call for it…this does and we’re loving it. Not only that, we just started helping a friend by homeschooling her daughters during the day. Today was our first day and we really enjoyed ourselves. It went much quicker than I expected and we were finished early!
Tomorrow I’m taking them on a field trip! Stop back by tomorrow night to read about it and maybe see a few pictures!
I have four children, two of these have a problem with standing up straight. I can’t get them to keep their shoulders back, head up, stomach in, etc, etc. They look like they have a little hump back! I told them if they don’t stand up straight I’m going to strap a board to them to keep them straight…that or get them a posture corrector!
Does anyone have any suggestions on getting them to stand up straight?
Well, Christmas is long over, but we do have birthdays throughout the year. My youngest just had a birthday last month and we have another childs birthday coming up in July. We’re in the middle of the longest stretch with having to buy toys for someones birthday or other holiday. This is the time when we should be able to put back more money than usual…but it doesn’t seem to work out that way. There is always something else to buy, repair, replace, etc.
But, this is better than the alternative. The alternative being never having had children or them growing up and moving out. I’ll let them take their own sweet time with it.
My youngest daughter still has enough of that babyish cuteness to make her extremely cute. (not that the other children aren’t, or that she won’t be in a couple of years, but that *baby* in a child is it’s own kind of adorable)
She was asking about the Payday candy bar…and the way she says “Payday” is really sweet. So much so that my oldest son had her saying over and over and over again!
Payday, Payday, Payday, Payday, Payday, Payday!
Later Gator!
