As most of you are aware, we started a new curriculum a while back.  It’s called Weaver and it is working out wonderfully!  I didn’t get involved enough before because the curriculum simply didn’t call for it…this does and we’re loving it.  Not only that, we just started helping a friend by homeschooling her daughters during the day.  Today was our first day and we really enjoyed ourselves.  It went much quicker than I expected and we were finished early!

Tomorrow I’m taking them on a field trip!  Stop back by tomorrow night to read about it and maybe see a few pictures!

Well, Christmas is long over, but we do have birthdays throughout the year.  My youngest just had a birthday last month and we have another childs birthday coming up in July.  We’re in the middle of the longest stretch with having to buy toys for someones birthday or other holiday. This is the time when we should be able to put back more money than usual…but it doesn’t seem to work out that way. There is always something else to buy, repair, replace, etc.

But, this is better than the alternative. The alternative being never having had children or them growing up and moving out. I’ll let them take their own sweet time with it. :-)

We had four extra little people in our home last night.  Two of my nieces and two of my nephews.

We had a full house.

It was totally exciting, never a dull moment and extremely loud…all night long and in to this morning!  As we were getting in to the van this morning, the kids wouldn’t get right in to their seats and it seemed no one wanted to listen to direction…so I turned off the van, pulled out my keys and told the kids that I was going back in the house and to yell when they’re ready to go.  That moved them along pretty quickly!  ;-)

Honestly, though, I love having a full house.  I just hope that when my children are grown and moved out they come back to visit often and I am able to spend a lot of time with my grandchildren!  An empty and quiet house just isn’t home to me!

My son T. loves soccer, much to his fathers dismay. His dad is a football fanatic and always hated soccer. I was sure that our boys would never be able to play soccer due to their fathers absolute disgust for the game. For many years this was life…

Then came K. K is the baby..she was born too early (but that’s another blog entry) and she is rotten. K. decided that she wanted to play soccer and Daddy said ok. I told him that it wouldn’t be right to let K. and not at least ask the other kids if they want to play. He reluctantly agreed and before he knew it he had four children all playing soccer. (and zero playing football!)

Our oldest son played during his senior year for the homeschool team. Our oldest daughter also only played one year. K. played from the age of 4 to 8 and has just this year decided to try other sports. Our son T. loves soccer and won’t give it up until he has to.

I seem to remember telling my husband to never say never…I seem to say that a lot with him. I wonder if he’ll ever listen. ;-)

My youngest daughter still has enough of that babyish cuteness to make her extremely cute. (not that the other children aren’t, or that she won’t be in a couple of years, but that *baby* in a child is it’s own kind of adorable)

She was asking about the Payday candy bar…and the way she says “Payday” is really sweet.  So much so that my oldest son had her saying over and over and over again!

Payday, Payday, Payday, Payday, Payday, Payday!

Later Gator!
