My love of writing comes from this man.  Piggy Pappaw was my great grandfather and yes, we called him Piggy Pappaw because of the pigs on his farm.  He was the fun loving romantic, the artistic writer. I can only hope to be half the writer he was. His poems are inspirational.  He lived his life for the Lord and I am so proud to call him my great grandfather.  I had another grandfather (4th great) who was also a poet.  His name was Zebulon Leavenworth. You can read one of his poems here. One thing they had in common: they wrote about those they loved.Piggy Mammaw and Piggy Pappaw

I haven’t had a chance to just be lazy, lately. We’ve been very busy opening a new business…now, after more than a month of non-stop *go-go-go* we are finally able to just be lazy.

So…today we are taking full advantage. We are sitting around being as lazy as we possibly can…I on the computer, my children off doing whatever they want (video games, friends over, etc.).

It’s nice to be lazy every once in a while. :-)

I love animals. Animals are so cool….cats are my favorite, followed closely by dogs and birds….
I have a pet cockateil named Willy. His full name is Wilford Brimley…because he looks just like the man by the same name when he gets his feathers ruffled. :-)
We also have cats, four of them. Shadow has been with us the longest and is the one we’d keep if we could only keep one…and according to my husband that’s the case…of course that’s been the case for years…
Our other cats are Midnight, Frosty and Smoky.
And then there is our dog Elvis. Yes, he is named after the singer Elvis Presley. Our dog was born on Elvis’ birthday so he was given the name Elvis by the owner before us. He’s a pomeranian and he runs the house. :-)
Do you have any animals? What are your favorites?

Years ago, my grandmother was a TB patient. She was sent to a place called Waverly Hills to be treated. This was back in the late 50’s. Now, many claim the building is haunted. My grandmother doesn’t like to hear that it’s haunted and doesn’t believe it for a second.

Here is a little video I found on Waverly Hills

1.   I can blog in peace. (the kids are still sleeping)

2.   I can read others blogs in peace.

3.   I can straighten up the house without kids running through making more messes.

4.   The house is quiet, peaceful.

5.    I can watch whatever I want on TV!

6.    I can read the Bible without distractions.

7.    I can work on genealogy without the kids knocking my papers all over the place.

8.    I can watch my children sleeping.

9.    I can be a couch potato

10.    I can be alone with my thoughts.
