Well, a very good friend of mine has a teen with a problem.  She has a zit.  Yes, one zit.  What is she worried about?  I can remember being 16 and it was like the end of the world when I got a zit…yes, one zit. 

She has tried helping her to hide it, but she claims it’s just too big to cover up.  She has helped her with different types of acne treatments.

She is now learning that really the best thing is prevention. This includes washing her face every morning and before she goes to bed. Use a good moisturizer, toner and cleanser.

The last I heard, the zit is almost gone, so it looks like she’s going to live.

The kids have been begging me to take them geocaching.   I’ve heard a lot about it, I’ve read up on it and it does seem quite interesting and extremely fun. 

People and organizations all over the world have put these caches in different places for others to find and will give you the coordinates to that cache.  You would use your gps to find them.  Seem easy?  Well, it’s one thing to find it, it’s another to actually get to it.  That’s part of the fun. 

The only problem with us doing this is that I don’t have a gps.  I found where Buy.com has a great Garmin StreetPilot c550 GPS Navigation System w/ Bluetooth. This is such a great price I’m considering buying two, one for me and one for my husband.  This would be really nice for our annual road trips, also.  We like to go on a road trip at least once each year…usually we aren’t sure where we’re going until just a few weeks before we go.  Many times, while we’re on the trip we’ll decide to go to another destination.  Just last year we went to Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas.  While there, we decided to check out Iowa and Nebraska as well.  I can think of a few times it would have been nice to have one of these with us!

I just got a new laptop…it’s pretty decent, but Vista is horrible.  Programs that should work fine are crashing halfway through using it, games aren’t working properly….it feels like there is very little ram sometimes. Everything takes so long to open…sheesh. Sometimes I feel like throwing it out the window!!

Actually I wouldn’t…I can’t afford to throw that much money out the window!

If anyone has suggestions for me on my Vista problems please get in touch with me…it’s driving me crazy!

We’ve been off line for a while now…windstorms came through the area and messed everything up! We had no electricity for eight days, no cable for more than two weeks and we still don’t have a house phone.

You really begin to realize how much you depend on electricity and cable when it’s taken away from you for a while! :-\

My kids were actually handling it better than I was. I don’t like being without the internet…neither do they, but I was complaining about it more.

I do have an aircard, which helps a lot…but is entirely too slow.

A very good friend of mine was just about to leave for the grocery when her husband started telling her all of the other things he needed; towels, wash cloths, tissues, jeans and he’d like to have a new desk, a couple of platform beds and a large screen tv.

She decided he didn’t need any of it and she left. When she got home without any of the items he *asked* for, he sighed heavily and told her he was only joking about the big stuff….but he did need the tissues.

She told him that’s what he gets for joking around all the time!
